STARGAZER FORECAST NOVEMBER 2015

TANGENT NEPTUNE: UNDER THE INFLUENCE

The first week of the month bustles with activity, a pragmatic, but passionate energy is prevalent as Sun transits Scorpio and Venus, Mars and Jupiter continue through Virgo. This is a great time to take action on projects that require organization and attention to detail, as we’ll feel very productive in the days leading up to the compelling New Moon in Scorpio, November 11th. The New Moon connects intimately with the Jupiter – Pluto trine, and has powerful, expansive overtones. Meanwhile, brash Uranus in Aries forms a strange alinement called a Yod impacting the 17’ Aries/Libra midpoint. It seems whatever begins now does so quite suddenly or in a very unexpected way. There may be an astonishing opportunity to engage an innovative new course of activity. For clues think back to what was initiated last March – April. Both the Sun and Jupiter form their exact, individual quincunxes to Uranus in the days leading up to the New Moon, so news may come in on the 5th or 9th that requires swift thinking or decision making. The pace is very brisk and in some cases news or events will be somewhat startling! Get as much of the organizing and nitty gritty detail oriented stuff done as possible during the first week. Venus and Mars move into airy Libra in the second week and the ambience will become quite social, and less work oriented, unless you work in the arts, that is!

Venus from Libra makes several key aspects this month, and lovers and partners will be connecting passionately (Venus conjunct Mars) and making binding commitments (Venus sextile Saturn) in this phase. More disruptive influences (square Pluto/opposite Uranus) suggest reappraisal of these commitments and can potentially signal endings for some. The dynamics these aspects bring on can be destabilizing, but are really just meant to test to durability of our bonds. Venus – Pluto signifies a turning point that will transform a relationship, it will either deepen in intimacy or falter. The Uranus connection can be quite exhilarating. Time to try something new, maybe with someone new? Electrical and impulsive forces will be at work. It’s an exciting month for love! With Venus in play, the areas of love and finance are the foremost indicated, but looking to see the house in your chart Venus is ruler of will also reveal clues as to where you might experience activity at these times.

The Sun – Mercury cycle begins on the 17th from 24 Scorpio. It is from here we set the agenda of our daily activities for the next 4 months. This thrust of our communications will endure and see modification during the next Mercury retrograde phase (January 2016). (I will be including a deeper analysis and guidelines for using the Sun – Mercury cycles in my 2016 report.)

The Neptune – Saturn square forms exact this month, it’s possible the curtain rises on an inconvenient truth, shattering an illusion that we have for too long turned a blind eye to. This is an undertone that will affect us for the coming year, with the third, final aspect occurring (due to the retrograde periods) September 2016. Neptune energy can be quite elusive and evasive, though the reasons for this are actually far more complex than one might realize, and can be rooted in deep feelings of inadequacy or shrouded in such intensified idealism that it makes it impossible to settle for anything that exists in the ordinary world. Neptune far prefers the fantasy to the reality and would much rather create the perfect a scene in the imagination than to deal with the real flesh, blood and potential imperfections a confrontation in meatspace might reveal. This can be especially pernicious in relationships where we might keep our partner at a safe distance, just far enough away to not have to observe what might be undesirable characteristics while indulging perpetually in fantasy about the circumstances, padding the details with what we fancy rather than what’s real. This applies to any area in which Neptune is operating in your chart right now (read for your ascendant for the dirty details). There can be some anxiety accompanying this transit where we realize we have deluded ourselves about circumstances or individuals we had chosen to perceive as faultless. Beneath that gauzy and alluring veneer, we begin to see the cracks, and the extent to which this illusion has been perpetuated, the harder it will be to ultimately accept this reality.

Saturn, on the other hand is only about what’s real, and has a reputation for being tough or harsh, particularly where our deepest sense of idealism would seek to prevail. The interaction of these two, will thus be problematic where we have entertained an illusion rather than the truth. Neptune seeks to release and let everything go. Saturn is about taking responsibility and administrating over the environment in which it finds itself. Whereas Neptune represents a situation we may have idealized, Saturn is about getting serious and with these two acting upon each other some friction where we must acknowledge the distinction between fact and fiction. Neptune represents the ability to transcend, whereas Saturn tends to be the work and obligation that we are trying to transcend. It’s easy to knock Saturn, but keep in mind, it is this planet that offers security, stability and maturity. The themes of “getting real” and accepting and setting some boundaries becomes important over the coming year. In several ways, seeing the reality of a situation and removing some of the fuzzy edges from our vision can be a really positive adjustment. By acknowledging the truth of what is and what is not yet, we can get to work on materializing the vision Neptune is providing when reality comes up short.

It’s also possible something really quite lovely is emerging, that serendipity has brought forth an extraordinary and beautiful circumstance, though perhaps it is not yet tenable within your life structure. In this case this aspect will challenge you to confront this now and throughout next year to build a structure that will be supportive to this. There is the potential that the desire to obtain the divine and etherial essence Neptune is expressing for us individually will drive us to overcome a major obstacle. In this way the theme over the next 10 months can be be making the unreal or impossible into the real.

The vast reorganization required from now through next September likely stems back to circumstances that had coalesced in mid 2013. Jupiter/Cancer, Saturn/Scorpio and Neptune/Pisces sat in a comfortable trine, and developments during this period were easy to make and lent to a positive and stable emotional ambience. The the test now is to rearrange our lives around all that has happened since, to take what was learned from the highly introspective and cathartic Saturn – Scorpio phase and turn it out into the world at large. The original conjunction occurred in 1989, (if you can remember that far back, 😉 ) so something that began for you personally in that period is being triggered. To the extent we have not lived up to the visionary desires of Neptune, this period can be one of getting it together and going for it. A square aspect provides tension and frustration, but this energy creates the friction necessary to stimulate us to take action. Saturn in Sagittarius is a diamond tipped arrow, the issue with Saturn in the apex of the Nodal T-square is where you need to set your target. From November 12, 2015, that target is where Virgo (transiting North Node) lies within your chart.

As Saturn works upon Neptune, so does Neptune’s dissolving qualities affect Saturn, and it’s ability to build in concrete terms. Over the next year or so, it’s possible to feel a pervasive sense of futility in trying to organize the affairs of the house being transited by Saturn as well as in life in general. There may be an existential crisis at a very quiet, subjective level transpiring over the course of this transit, a niggling sense of “why bother?” that may hinder our undertakings. This will become most critical as Saturn squares the Nodal Axis next year, and when the South Node conjuncts Neptune in late October – early November 2016.

Unlike, say, a disruptive Uranus influence, the quality of energy expressed by a Saturn – Neptune combination is slow and pervasive. It’s unlikely a single event will send your life spiraling into disarray, rather expect a process to unfold over the next year which will require an appraisal of both the long range goals (Saturn) and the vision-inspiration-intuition (Neptune) which could provide a challenging balance act. The final aspect occurs September 10th, 2016 so it’s from here we will see some relief and resolution, though the South Node conjunction to Neptune aspect that follows in November next year indicates the need to release a heavy burden related to the Neptune issue. This can be quite cathartic, actually, especially where the negative attributes of Neptune (addiction, illusion, dissipation) are being eradicated. In the event we fought to preserve an ideal state, we may be very disappointed over what we fought for, particularly if we learn this was bull shit all along. In this way the Saturn square is very useful and instructive, it points us to our potential blind spots and gives us time reconcile our issues prior to the South Node transit, which will be far more brutal if we let those Neptune issues slide too far out of control.

ARIES: Work and a financial emphasis predominates over the first few weeks. A New Moon in Scorpio on the 11th points to financial developments associated with loans, grants or a partner’s income. This New Moon connects powerfully to Jupiter and Pluto and you may be getting money to start a new business venture or increase the operations of an existing one at this time. The 10th and 17th are suited for conversations relating to money and making financial plans. Venus (November 9th) and Mars (November 13th) move into the area of committed relationships, and a partnership deepens considerably in this phase: the 13th and 24th are phenomenal for travel and making plans for the future. The adoration you receive from your spouse or partner enlivens you in this phase. The 23rd features a very exciting surprise from your sweetheart, or possibly a meeting with an unexpected, but kindred spirit. Things get easier for you after New Moon. A sense of vitality and rebirth prevail. Saturn – Neptune speaks to your secrets. A hidden or obscured matter is obfuscating your progress in your educational or publishing goals and ability to expand your influence in the world at large. Releasing a subconscious pattern of behavior is possible now and should be attended to, particularly if addiction or dependency is implicated.

TAURUS: A close relationship may be coming into focus, and the New Moon in Scorpio on the 11th is the ideal time to meet someone with incredible potential or make a commitment. Venus and Mars combine in your house of True Romance on November 1st, and an enticing affair may escalate quickly. The New Moon combines with Jupiter and Pluto, suggesting passion and pleasure feature largely into any association you might make now. Mercury in this area from the 3rd – 20th signals the lines of communication are wide open. The emphasis shifts to work in second half, and the final week of the month sees you in a hard working to burn out phase. Easy does it! You can really crash around the 20th or 23rd if you push yourself too hard. Assignments will be abundant and tap your natural creativity. The 24th sees a more moderated pace. Saturn – Neptune can speak to a dilemma in an intimate relationship. A casual attitude towards your lover or commitments to friends, networks or an organization may be inhibiting the cultivation of depth in your closest commitment.

GEMINI: A really new way of life and how you manage your health or even a new job or work assignment is due around the New Moon on the 11th. This taps right into changes you have experienced in the domestic arena over the last few months, and a significant development on the 2nd that changes everything for the better. If you recently moved or made substantial changes you reap the rewards now through increased vitality and productivity. Mercury brings in the details from the 3rd – 20th. From this place of greater stability you find you are really ready to engage in a pleasure pursuit, as creativity and romance feature largely while Venus (from November 9th) and Mars (November 13th) transit the house of self expression and love affairs. With all the Mercury retro funk well in the rear view, it’s time to take the plunge. Saturn in the 7th (committed partnerships) urges maturity in matters of the heart meanwhile, and there are good prospects on tap on the 13th and 24th. A Full Moon in your sign on the 25th points you towards a very significant encounter, and bring clues about what you might encounter over the coming year ahead. Professional challenges on the 26th give way to a new vocational direction or understanding in your career.

CANCER: A really marvelous personal development is in store around the Scorpio New Moon on the 11th, connecting with the remarkable Jupiter – Pluto trine October 11th, a creative project or love relationship is really taking off in this phase. A Mercury transit affects this area simultaneously, and you’ve definitely shaken off the blues Saturn may have left in the wake of it’s transit here in 2012 – 2014. A fresh perspective on life is possible and augmented by very positive vibrations in your domestic and personal life at this time. Here as well, the challenges of the Eclipses subside to offer a brighter and better future. Issues may get a bit hairy on the 20th or 23rd, not all the dust has settled yet. Saturn square Neptune on the 26th may see you seriously contemplating if not abandoning a concept related to education, publishing or broadcasting that has proven too elusive to realize. It’s not impossible to make this thing happen, but does require extensive modification if you continue to try for it. This ties back to events or awareness that stem back to Summer of 2013. Success is still possible, but there will be a challenge to overcome in this period.

LEO: A really positive new era begins in regard to your personal life and home is featured around the time of the Scorpio New Moon on the 11th. This ties right into the positive financial upswing you’ve experienced since August. A new job and increased earnings very likely makes a residential move possible at this time. A hard working phase comes to conclusion by mid – month, allowing for social developments and good times with friends, sibling and neighbors, with whom you wish to share in your good fortune. A Full Moon on the 25th is wonderful for attending a social event or party. A Venus – Mars conjunction on the 1st is good for making a purchase or setting new financial goals. You may splash out and show a loved one a fabulous time or purchase an expensive gift. Mercury keeps you busy with domestic matters through the 20th. After that you seek out avenues for self expression and pleasurable experiences. You can meet a compelling love interest in this phase, with a particularly interesting, if not unexpected twist around the 23rd. A harsh reality check on the 26th regarding a debt, other peoples money or disillusionment in an intimate relationship is a possibility unless you (and the one you have chosen) have been completely honest in all your undertakings. If not, extensive modification will be required to remedy a challenging situation.

VIRGO: Communication is featured this month as the Sun and Mercury light up the area of chart associated with day to day life and sharing information. Social activities and correspondence are very favorable at this time. With Mars still in your sign, your words have strength and conviction. You can make quite an impression when Venus and Mars conjunct in your sign on the 2nd, most likely on a potential partner, if you choose to. The New Moon is Scorpio heralds a new lifestyle, and the pace of life becomes brisk and exciting from this time onward. Venus (November 9th) and Mars (November 13th) turn your attention towards earnings, perhaps through a creative discipline or in a field related to beauty, luxury or leisure. A Full Moon on the 25th highlights a significant professional achievement, making you visible if not sought after in your industry. The 26th can reveal a contentious situation at home or with a spouse or partner. One is just not serving the other, and you may even learn of a deception in regard to your property at the hands of another. This is an extreme example, but you should be prepared for all manner of unusual things to emerge in this period. It’s possible your residence is somehow hindering your desire to make a deeper commitment within partnership. Love has fated overtones from the 11th, the eclipses this year gave clues to this. Your’ rapidly evolving sense of identity plays a major role in the kind of person you see yourself with: as the mirror of your self image is changing, so too will the image you seek to convey through your relationship.

LIBRA: A massive financial opportunity is revealed during the New Moon in Scorpio on the 11th. The trials and tribulations you confronted during the Saturn transit of this area in 2013 – 2014 may turn up an extraordinary source of income at this time. Pluto and Jupiter positively augment developments, offering a really powerful and dynamic source of prosperity. Crucial conversations or activity on the 17th pave the way. It’s a possibility your home is in some way connected, or the financial upswing you experience at this time allows for a really positive residential upgrade. A partnership is implicated in some way. Expect the unexpected during the first week. A super sexy behind the scenes love mojo is triggered when Venus and Mars harmonize on the 2nd, indicating a sultry-secret rendezvous. Fantasy fulfillment is possible. Venus (November 9th) and Mars (November 13th) in your sign see you at the very top of your game. These transits are much more satisfying this go around – last year saw the harsh auspices of the Cardinal Cross wreak havoc on your plans. Now you have been fortified, you can use this energy to far more productive ends. See, be seen and enjoy the positive social vibrations of the Gemini Full Moon on the 25th. Venus makes uncomfortable aspects on the 14th, 23rd and 24th, so these are not your best days though a partner may bring a fun surprise your way on the 23rd.

SCORPIO: A true love connection can be made on the 2nd, when Venus and Mars combine, activating very positive interactions. You can really connect with someone through shared hopes, wishes and dreams. A phenomenal New Moon in your sign on the 11th taps into the Jupiter – Pluto trine, ensuring your success for the upcoming year. This marvelous influence is augmented by very profitable developments associated with your career on the 10th and 13th. From the second half, you’ll prefer privacy and withdrawal. Venus (Nov. 9th) and Mars (Nov. 13th) transit Libra, suggesting retreat and a period of reflection. Your imagination and intuition will be strong in this phase, and you are likely cooking up some new strategies for the upcoming year. The 17th is very positive for journaling your experiences and expressing your wishes with clarity. Issues associated with your creative expression, a relationship within a love affair or with a child can be experienced around the 26th, when a very challenging angle between Saturn (in the area of values and resources) and Neptune (self expression, true romance and children) issues an uncomfortable ultimatum directly implicating your personal affairs. It’s possible financial hardships you are contending with are hindering your love relationship or desire towards creative self expression, even having children. Use your heart’s desire as motivation to get your financials in order. A revealing tip on the 13th can point you in the right direction.

SAGITTARIUS: Venus and Mars conjoin on the 1st to set you up for a huge breakthrough in your profession. There may be a bit going on behind the scenes this month, a New Moon on the 11th impacts your house of seclusion and privacy, tapping into the dynamic energy flow of the Jupiter – Pluto trine. You conduct your affairs effectively far from the public eye at this time. The 9th, 10th and 13th are beneficial for negotiations and implementing strategies that have a secretive undertone. Social life on the other hand will be quite vibrant, with many exciting invitations and events coming your way as Venus (Nov. 9th) and Mars (Nov. 13th) enter Libra, stimulating connectivity with others. A Full Moon on the 25th brings a culminating moment in a partnership. A challenging t-square formation at this time sees your energy being scattered in many directions, and this development could very well push you over the edge if you are not careful. Saturn and Neptune are applying in a very tough square at this lunation, and you may really be at odds with circumstances in your residential life or with a family member. This is an issue tying back to something that precipitated in the middle of 2013, perhaps there was a residential move, and it is now being drastically reconsidered. There could be an issue with the home, water damage that can’t be adequately repaired, or someone you live with has Neptune issues – alcohol or drug abuse could feature. At this point you have to make a decision for yourself about how to proceed. It might be a tough call, but if you have over idealized circumstances the truth will be apparent now that things can no longer go on this way. Sun conjunct Saturn in your sign on the 29th will see you taking control of the situation.

CAPRICORN: Strong social and professional prospects vie for your attention this month as Venus (Nov. 9th) and Mars (Nov. 13th) come to occupy the apex of your chart, stimulating your ambition and entrepreneurial pursuits. Meanwhile, transits of the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio and a Scorpio New Moon on the 11th offer powerful social and networking opportunities. You are likely coming into the esteem of very important people in your industry and making new associations connected to your recent accomplishments. With a rising profile, you stand to connect with more successful people. With Jupiter in an auspicious position, real expansion and prosperity are within reach. The 13th features a very favorable professional turning point. You may give an interview or have your talents showcased in the media somehow. Friends with benefits (like power and money) come into the frame around the 2nd, 5th, 10th, 17th, and 24th and make valuable introductions. Really favorable meetings transpire on these dates. One caveat for November: a challenging aspect between Neptune and Saturn on the 26th will have a damaging effect on your reputation if you have failed to be completely above board in all your dealings and have upheld all your legal and financial obligation to which you are bound by contracts. You may feel weird about your self image and identity over the Saturn – Neptune phase and may seek to try out esoteric philosophies, meditation or something similar. This is fine, but bear in mind you might be impressionable and steer clear of charlatans and addictive substances. Take a time out on the 30th to collect yourself.

AQUARIUS: A very dynamic New Moon in Scorpio on the 11th brings a stunning new prospect in your career and chosen profession into the frame. An opportunity that is extended now is the successful culmination of the hard working and learning phase that permeated between late – 2012 through 2014. A business partner or spouse may be lucky for you in this phase, and may have made a key introduction or helped you get this venture on track. Developments that have been playing out in secrecy or behind the scenes – a drive to manifest something that emanates from deep within your subconscious, is also a potent force at work here. You may express uneasiness at the transformative forces at work on the 5th, but this is just a signal you are onto something big. Modifications to an existing plan make it stronger and more effective and a partner offers good advice if you are willing to hear it. Positive vibrations surrounding your academic career, an opportunity to travel or lecture, or in the realm of media, publishing or broadcast that got ironed out and initiated last month are due as Venus ( Oct. 9th) and Mars (Oct. 13th) transit Libra and the realm of adventure and far horizons. Cultural activities and exchange are favored. There could be a financial oversight that is the cause of concern around the 26th. Where Neptune has obscured the reality of your income and earnings, there can be a reckoning when Saturn enters the picture, bringing a harsh reality check if one is due. The 29th is positive for checking your facts and creating a new strategy. Pleasurable social activities and interaction, maybe even a love affair, are all enticing possibilities over the Gemini Full Moon on the 25th. This lunation ties into the Saturn – Neptune square, so you may or may not need this diversion. Up to you!

PISCES: Incredible good fortune in a relationship is possible around the 2nd, when the third stunning culmination of Venus conjunct Mars affects your house of committed partnerships, fanning the flames of romantic and erotic desire. You can truly connect with someone on a meaningful way, emotion and sexuality are integrated at this time. The Moon from your house of True Romance connects in Cancer. There has never been a time such as this to realize your most heartfelt desires for love and connectivity. The New Moon in Scorpio on the 11th sets the pace for the month. Endeavors connected to academia, teaching, media and publishing are featured, you may also promote yourself to favorable results at this time, particularly on the 17th. Mercury transiting Scorpio from the 3rd augments this very favorably, and intuition serves you brilliantly on the 6th. Venus (Nov. 9th) and Mars (Nov. 13) come to highlight the area of intimacy and shared resources. You may be pursuing capital to start a business enterprise, if so circle the dates of the 13th and 24th, which are ideal for meetings and negotiation. You have the right combination of tact and diplomacy to make a good impression at this time. A Full Moon in Gemini on the 25th from the area of residence and personal life falls into a dynamic t-square connecting to Mercury conjunct Saturn (Sagittarius) and Neptune (Pisces). This can be a very contentious time for you personally as rivaling energies across your home/professional axis can really exert pressure on your sense of self, identity and ultimately feelings of personal security. Any t-square does, on the other hand, present an opportunity through crisis, and a professional offer that comes in on the 29th will require quick action, so don’t get too bogged down in this.

STARGAZER SEPTEMBER FORECAST

Venus conjunct Mars in Leo – Legendary Love

September reveals potency towards creating the kind of momentum that has been lacking throughout most of the year. We’ve taken decisive actions, (Pluto – Uranus) but have not been able to sustain traction for very long with the retrograde phases of Saturn and Venus meddling in our affairs. Efforts begin to congeal this month and it’s possible where we’ve been working (in a sustained manner) despite obstacles or delays, fruits begin to appear now and several opportunities emerge for the productive advancement of our goals and within our relationships.

The first six months of the year revealed the possibilities for the future as Saturn transited Sagittarius, the Summer months saw a revisitation of the Scorpio themes and required the resolution of any unfinished business in the arena of sex, transformation and our closest relationships. Abetted by Venus in retrograde, stark considerations and amendments have been made over the prior weeks to accommodate required changes. By now the ambience has shifted considerably and the harsher realities confronted (as Leo planets squared Saturn) have subsided. Jupiter is in Virgo now, suggesting it’s time to get to work.

Saturn re-enters Sagittarius on the 17th of September where it transits through December of 2017. The new goals involve finding a topic or field of study, travel or expression of ideas to a larger group (most likely abroad) upon which to really focus and explore in great depth and discipline. Sagittarius is naturally benevolent and exuberant. Saturn here may deliberately limit the expression of these tendencies, so where we do manage to uncover our innate excitement and enthusiasm over the next two years is where we need to be and points to the topic we need to cultivate. As Saturn in Scorpio restricted our sexual energy, demanding great depth and honesty within our intimate relationships before they could evolve, the next transit will require that to express the altruistic and philosophical nature of Sagittarius, we really must refine our beliefs. Sagittarius is also the target, a specific destination. We must define the target quite clearly in this phase in order to reach it. Get ready to take aim!

Venus conjunct Mars (14 Leo) on the 1st of the month can be a decisive (and passionate!) turning point in relational matters, and particularly the beleaguered romantic ones that suffered last month but managed to make it through. Ardent romantic and erotic overtones will be expressed during this conjunction (the second of three this year,) and we can feel and see signs of life stirring in affairs of the heart which have been dormant or for which the future seemed uncertain. From Leo, there is a mythic quality to the love relationship at this time, a real knights in shining armor fairy tale thing going on and the developments now have a heroic undertone. Lots of passionate sparks are flying for sure! With Venus soon to turn direct (Sep. 6th) we may feel ready to move forward in a situation we had been uncertain of.

Indications of the long range goals were stimulated in late February by the first Venus – Mars conjunction in Aries which was trine Saturn – Sagittarius. It’s very likely we began relationships or initiatives at that time that serve these goals, even if our efforts were subverted (temporarily) while Saturn moved back through Scorpio to attend to unfinished business in that area. The Venus – Mars conjunction on the 1st can point to potent developments for these endeavors begun at the end of February, which will really culminate in November when the final Venus – Mars conjunction (23 Virgo) allows us to MATERIALIZE our accomplishment based objectives. Coupled with Saturn leaving it’s shadow (4 Sagittarius, it’s placement at the time of the trine activity in February), this is the timeframe we want to look towards for a substantial development associated with what we began at the end of last winter. Venus – Mars – Leo likely offers a very supportive indication that things are moving forward, and we may get a real boost of encouragement for our efforts thus far!

Mars trine Uranus (Sep. 9th) and Venus trine Uranus (Sep. 24th) also send supportive signals of progress from efforts, especially the innovative ones, that we undertook in that late February – early March period. On their own, they suggest a free flowing and spontaneous creative energy to work with. This is positively stimulating influence for personal, romantic, creative or recreational matters. Finding a new way to do things is favored and offers an exciting respite from circumstances that have fallen into stagnant patterns.

Another topic for consideration this month is the upcoming Mercury retrograde phase, which will fall from September 17th – October 8th. Due to shadow periods, we are essentially in a muddle with this one through the last week of October. First, some perspective on Mercury retrograde, which occurs three times annually and accounting for shadow periods, affects us for about six months out of the year. All retrograde phases indicate a period of reappraisal and a shift in the current energy level to find more appropriate patterns of behavior and activity. The concept that retrograde phases are inherently negative is absurd. They are in fact quite necessary, and while sometimes challenging, instructive in that they reveal what is and what is not working. To this end, they are actually quite useful!

With Mercury retrograde we have accept for a few weeks that our perspective is not particularly clear and allow for the possibility that not all the information we require to move forward is available. Once we have done this, we can productively work with this period to refine and modify our plans and objectives, which will be effectively implemented by late October. This particular cycle is colored by a tense square to Pluto for close to three weeks in September. It seems a crucial agreement (Libra, the sign Mercury is transiting) is being tested by incredibly obstinate forces (Pluto). This looks like a divorce, or perhaps a big business agreement or loan, and the retrograde suggests a very drawn out period of negotiation between two parties which has to be modified substantially in order to come to a conclusion that is fair for all. We may also experience this on a societal level where legislation that is being made to accommodate the significant structural shifts that are transforming our global and cultural landscape are delayed for some amount of time. Expect more (convoluted) news coming out of the Euro Zone and in regard to negotiation of establishing infrastructure affecting Sharing Economy businesses like as Uber and AirB+B.

Also in that loop are two very informative contacts of Mercury to the Libra North Node precisely as Mercury enters shadow (August 30th) then again precisely as Mercury goes direct on October 10th. Very kismet! News, a conversation or realization that occurs on August 30th plays a big role over the coming weeks and will likely come to bear just as Mercury turns direct. We’ve grappled with the evolutionary objective of the North Node Libra since February of last year signaling a process of learning to engage equally and cooperatively with others, particularly in partnerships. A great deal of information about this will become present over the coming five weeks, and of course is deeply interwoven with the Pluto dynamic informing the process enormously. Hopefully we find a positive resolution, particularly where the Pluto issue can effectively (and only cooperatively) be resolved. Venus from Leo is especially supportive and positively harmonizes Mercury to remind us there is a bright spot worth working towards in this period. Cooperation is crucial and messages we make or receive will be

Discussion of the upcoming eclipses of Virgo on the 13th and Aries on the 27th, as well as the very trippy Jupiter – Neptune opposition on the 18th will be covered on upcoming video blogs on the Stargazer + Fiord YouTube channel HERE.

ARIES: A love relationship continues to be emphasized, and can be placed on firmer ground when Venus moves direct on the 6th. If things are getting serious, a proposal or commitment may be made around the 14th, when Mercury and Venus allow you to express your feelings for someone beautifully. The 9th, 24th and Eclipse in your sign on the 28th promise much is in store for this partnership. A Mercury retrograde phase in Libra from the 18th can see negotiations ongoing, someone from the past may also reemerge in this period. By mid October, all will be sorted. Jupiter in Virgo and an eclipse on the 13th point your attention to work, productivity and lifestyle matters, an area that will be very active for you in the coming months. If you have been seeking a new job or need to remedy health issues, you have great prospects ahead.

TAURUS: Really intriguing developments this month as a new love relationship or creative project gets underway. An eclipse on the 13th speaks to this, while an unusual opposition alinement between Jupiter and Neptune on the 18th suggest the realization of your most cherished dreams through a love connection or creative endeavor, or your total undoing if you have allowed yourself to be deceived. A lot of energy is still being focused on the domestic environment in this phase. With Venus back in direct motion on the 6th, you have the resources available now to make the changes you seek. A conjunction of Venus and Mars on the 1st points you exactly where you want to go. A final Aries eclipse on the 28th sees you letting go of an element of the past. The future awaits. Say goodbye and move along. Work and health related issues get scrambled for a few weeks when Mercury retrogrades on the 18th through October 10th.

GEMINI: A Virgo eclipse on the 13th signals really fundamental changes in your residential and domestic situation. An event or realization around the 6th precipitates this. Socially the vibe is great, and you might make a love connection during the most routine of your daily activities at the beginning of the month. Mercury in Libra from the 5th brings creative and romantic liaisons to the forefront of your attention. With another retrograde phase due on the 18th (lasting through October 10th) you’ll be considering then reconsidering your projects and connections. You experience this very personally and will likely feel a bit scattered throughout September. A beguiling issue surrounding shared revenue, a grant or loan may be the subject of concern. Venus direct on the 6th offers pleasurable and light hearted exchange. As always, consider your options, keep it light and let all the facts come in before you make a decision. A not to be missed event on the 24th turns up a compelling romantic opportunity.

CANCER: Venus and Mars again conjunct on the first, bringing a brilliant financial culmination, perhaps a development to events that precipitated in late February. Very auspicious professional developments on tap for the 9th and 24th are your best dates to really go for what you are worth in regard to a promotion or business proposal. An Aries Eclipse on the 28th seals the deal. Domestic arrangements, however, get the Mercury retrograde treatment, and comings, goings and just vague uncertainty can permeate your living situation through the first half of October. Saturn in Sagittarius from the 18th sees your responsibilities at work increasing. Remember you are building towards the incredible developments in store at the end of next year – stay focused and work hard. Jupiter opposite Neptune on the 18th simultaneously sees you neither here nor there. This trippy, subjective influence may cloud your thinking for a few days. Be wary of what you write, publish or even say out loud.

LEO: A Venus – Mars conjunction in your sign on the first arouses extraordinary passion and romantic energy. This energy prevails through the month as Venus (direct from the 6th) and Mars act as travel companions in your sign, with brilliant opportunities for sparkling romance on tap for the 9th and 24th especially. You begin to get favorable indications from the presence of Jupiter in your second house of values, possessions, assets and earnings during the Virgo eclipse on the 13th. A new source of prosperity, perhaps derived from your own self expression or creative endeavor, is highlighted in this phase. Financial commitments should be avoided around the 18th, the energy is a bit precarious and you may only be seeing what you want to see in regard to an offer. The 18th also sees Saturn leave Scorpio. An endemic issue connected to your personal life or residence resolves once and for all. Watch you words when Mercury goes retrograde in Libra on the 18th. Communication is particularly scrambled in this phase, old associates may make a reappearance. A final Eclipse in Aries on the 28th brings home two years of work towards a degree or a publishing/media related opportunity. An offer at this time ties right into your evolving sense of maturity and dedication to a creative enterprise. Responsibility will be required of you, but the benefits will be long lasting.

VIRGO: Another sultry twist as Venus and Mars hook up in your house of secrets and spirituality on the 1st? If not your imagination is bent on finding that idealized state of love and affection. The Sun from you sign (Happy Birthday!) adds impetus to your agenda, and an Eclipse in your sign on the 13th is all you need to get the ball rolling on a significant personal endeavor. Change is dynamic and stimulating in this phase and you can quickly make progress on your goals. Mercury retrograde from the 18th is playing a three card Monte game with your earnings and resources, and you just can’t put your finger on the winning card in this phase. Weigh options, and knowing this in advance, have a cash stash set aside to offset any disruptive influences at this time. A positive development connected to a spouse’s income may positively reinforce a move or renovation during the (final) Aries eclipse on the 28th. The South Node is attached to this eclipse, so it’s just as positive to have all your debt paid off in this phase as well. Venus is direct on the 6th, and a smoldering, behind the scenes love affair picks up some momentum. So much more in store next month, so don’t settle for someone because you feel a bit lonely. A very introspective period is coming to a definitive end very soon.

LIBRA: An urge to withdraw from the efforts of the previous months resonates around the time of the eclipse on the 13th. A great deal of energy seems to be percolating behind the scenes, and you do well to rest and reflect. Mercury began a long transit of your sign late last month, and will retrograde on the 18th, so recalibrating your image and identity will likely be a major feature through October 9th. A close friend or partner shows you the way through and brings very positive energy into your life on the 9th and/or 24th. A final eclipse in Aries on the 28th brings home the substantial changes you have experienced through and within relationships over the prior two years. You may take on a deeper level of commitment to someone in this phase, or meet someone completely new. Saturn is highly supportive, so a connection you make now is enduring. The rather bewildering influence of Jupiter opposite Neptune on the 18th can be very useful for a vision quest or even regressive psychotherapy if you need a little mental flossing. Your productivity will not be phenomenal in this phase, which is fine. You are revving up for a very busy period and need to rest and rejuvenate in anticipation of the developments arising in the near future.

SCORPIO: Venus resumes direct motion in Leo on the 6th, and a professional undertaking gets back on track. A Venus – Mars conjunction on the first signals a brilliant development, possibly tying back to events precipitated in February. The 9th and 24th are very favorable dates for movement in your career objectives. Mercury from Libra indicates you may feel a bit withdrawn. A retrograde phase beginning on the 18th features a strong connection to the past and things you thought you had left behind. Your subconscious is very bust at work now, and intuition quite strong regarding the direction you need to take. Taking some time out for reflection will be required during this transit, and even if you think a busy work and social schedule does not allow for this, think again. Feelings of de ja vous, dreams and intuition feature largely and bring astonishing insights. Watch your words during the Mercury – Pluto squares, they can and will be used against you. An Aries eclipse on the 28th brings a major turning point regarding your job and profession. Saturn leaves your sign for good on the 18th, having tied up many loose ends on your behalf. Pluto returning to direct motion a week later invigorates you. A huge sigh of relief as the hardest work is over.

SAGITTARIUS: You are a real trend setter in your industry with a lot of praise and recognition coming in for your recent successes, particularly on the 1st, when Venus and Mars connect in the area of promotion and media relations. This is a very effective time in which to launch a publicity or marketing campaign. If you are more academically oriented, you may start a lecture tour or publish your manuscripts or research at this time, to phenomenal success. Financial news is on route around the 6th, with earnings connected to your profession positively indicated. This will be an ideal time to negotiate for a salary increase or start to see revenue from a personal business venture. An Eclipse impacts the area of career and reputation on the 13th from Virgo. A huge shift in priorities is due, and there could be an offer simply to good to pass up. The 18th will feature a bewildering opposition between Jupiter and Neptune, and it will be a challenge to come to the right decision. Saturn back in your sign the same day will help you get down to business and sort out your agenda. Mercury meanwhile retrogrades in Libra, and it seems everyone you have ever known has an option about this and feels they must offer advice. With a great deal going on in this period you might scale back your social life a bit and focus on the goals at hand.

CAPRICORN: The merger of Venus and Mars from your 8th house of sex and intimacy can represent a really enticing exchange in a relationship. Finances also factor, and you might be making a major deal and signing a big contract at this time. All the pieces come together after the 6th, when Venus resumes direct motion from Leo. The 6th, 9th and 24th are also favorable for negotiations, and it seems you are deriving confidence from your family or through your residence. There can also be deepening intimacy in a partnership, and you may be spending more time together behind the scenes, or discussing moving in together around these dates. A very exciting development occurs in your living situation around the time of the Aries eclipse on the 28th. Mercury enters Libra on August 28th, an extended transit of your house of profession and public recognition due to a retrograde cycle from the 18th – October 10th. There will likely be some delays surround news on a promotion or within a personal enterprise through the 13th of October. A New Moon at that time indicates everything comes together seamlessly and you’ll be on your way. A publishing, media industry, teaching or travel opportunity begins to feature largely as Jupiter from Virgo (August 12th) began a very positive trend for you in regards to reaching a broader audience, and awareness of this is triggered around the time of the Virgo eclipse on the 13th. A major opportunity may be revealed at this time, or this may have been something you have worked towards since the beginning of March. A connection to Pluto in your sign suggests this is a very personal endeavor. Mars in this area from the 26th sees you putting a great deal of energy towards this venture, Venus comes in to help you out next month.

AQUARIUS: Venus goes direct on the 6th, bringing the return of a loved one or a long anticipated decision regarding a partnership. A Venus – Mars conjunction on the 1st conjures a very sexy homecoming. Any feelings of ambiguity are quickly replaced with a conviction to merge forces at this point. Emotions are imbued with erotic awareness and romantic desire. Rare and beautiful forces are at work in this phase. Mars on the 9th and Venus on the 24th connect vitally to Uranus, and feelings around this association escalate quickly and connect to the very heart of your nature and authenticity. You can make an extraordinary connection if you attend a neighborhood event or may meet someone while attending to the most routine daily affairs. An eclipse in Aries on the 28th can bring a stunning social opportunity or an invitation to join a prestigious group. Saturn returning to the area of friends and networks from the 18th will bring more mature, and possibly even successful people, into your milieu. Socially this continues to be a vibrant period, with attention shifting towards those at a distance, travel or promotional activities as Mercury transits Libra. The third and final retrograde phase commences on the 18th, and suggests delays if you are planning a trip or considering returning to academic pursuits. Mercury and Libra are close traveling companions in this phase, through the end of the month, so the ambience will be light, amiable and creative energies will flow regardless.

PISCES: A meeting or development during the Virgo eclipse on the 13th changes your life for some time to come. You have the opportunity to merge forces with someone new and captivating. A bewildering and fascinating energy culminates between yourself and this person around the 18th when very mystical and alchemical alignment between Jupiter and Neptune coalesces. It’s very easy at this time to over idealize this union, but feelings of rapport and serendipity should not be ignored, just taken with a grain of salt. Someone coming into view at this time is going to connect you to your most cherished wishes and dreams in the coming phase, so select this person carefully, you want to pick the right one! A key meeting around the 6th offers clues. Work life is still busy – busy, though you see financial rewards for your efforts on the 1st, 9th and 24th. You find inventive solutions and can solve problems at these times. Keep at it! An Aries eclipse on the 28th can signal the end of one source of income in order to make room for a new one. Saturn moves back into Sagittarius on the 18th, ushering a two year cycle of phenomenal professional growth. Mercury retrograde on the 18th may see a partner’s income or other source of outside revenue in a stasis or flux. You may also be looking further afield and turning up unconsidered sources at this time.

STARGAZER FORECAST AUGUST 2015

Check out the new STARGAZER video blog on YouTube, where I discuss the upcoming two weeks aspects with my friend Fiord: https://youtu.be/xUSVNLauqJ0

August packs a bit of a punch, and while there will be some positive results and returns, especially for innovative endeavors begun last Spring, our long range goals and especially love or financial arrangements can be visited by testing influences at this time. Much of this has to do with Venus retrograde, not a completely infrequent occurrence, but a challenging one for matters of the heart and forming partnerships for either business or pleasure. The retro phase allows for some pulse enhancing double and triple takes – we may get another chance on a love relationship that slipped through our fingers – and fantastic connections between Venus to Jupiter (Aug. 4 + October 25th), Uranus (Aug. 19 + September 24) as well as really passionate contacts with Mars (September 1 + November 1st) offer some really vibrant exchanges. Meanwhile the Saturn square (exact on Aug. 5 + October 10th) can signal delays or challenges within a partnership. It may also just represent a period of reappraisal, where we don’t quite know where we stand with another or even in relation to our own feelings! It’s acceptable to step back, evaluate and see what is and what is not working in our relationships. What is good to know is that relationships that survive this critical period were really meant to last. Venus resumes direct motion on September 6th.

In the context of a meaningful love connection, neither Venus retrograde or the Venus – Saturn square will be enough to derail a relationship if it is fundamentally good, but may provide obstacles in the form of separations or obligations that somehow keep a partnership from really coming together during this period. When Venus and Saturn engage, we really begin to question whether the relationship is worth moving forward with, does a relationship have what it takes to endure through the next phase of our development? This is a question we may not be able to answer until October, as the final aspect occurs October 10th, at precisely the same time as the end of the Venus retrograde shadow phase. By then Saturn is in Sagittarius and we are more tuned into our new, long range objectives. Through that time we are restructuring and determining the appropriateness and durability of our relationships, and building a new life with new ingredients in order to accommodate them.

The period from 2nd through the 7th is very pivotal, as Saturn resumes direct motion, then is promptly squared by Jupiter, Venus and Mercury all in Leo. Woah! Meanwhile, Venus conjunct Jupiter and Mercury conjunct Jupiter all insist upon a lighthearted and open ambience for exchange. Saturn in Scorpio forces us to dig deep and ensure alliances and commitments are meaningful and will allow us to transcend what we can do individually through working together. These aspects can represent poignant awareness of limitations and what we might need to release, either from within our emotional selves or through our relationships. Scorpio can have a tendency to self protective and defensive behavior when the vulnerable deeper feelings are activated, but really what Saturn is teaching and pushing us towards is revealing those emotions in order to create the profound level of trust required in our most intimate alliances.

While quite challenging, this is actually a very instructive period, if we stay attuned to the deeper message. School of hard knocks life lessons via Saturn in Scorpio can be tough, but these square aspects, and this whole first week of August will illuminate (possibly through confrontational situations or bittersweet feelings connected to a potential separation) the responsibility we must accept to take the next significant step towards maturity, security and a lasting resolution to the message of Saturn in Scorpio. Where it lies in your chart is what needs working on, and at least, with Saturn direct that work can begin now with the realizations that will likely come to light during the first week of the month. Acknowledging our personal limitations or obstacles may feel quite prickly, and the circumstances we contend with may feel quite obstinate, but are very valuable in pointing us not only towards what we really desire, but what needs to be resolved to get there. Another note, if you are in contract or other personal – professional negotiations that need to be resolved, this month (Venus retro not withstanding) is superior to September or October, which sees a Mercury retrograde phase through Libra.

Jupiter enters Virgo on the 11th, providing a real shift in orientation which will emphasize the practical and methodical. New value will be placed on efficiency and coming up with strategies for the implementation of practices that enhance productivity and wellness. Jupiter’s expansive influence is somewhat mitigated by the narrow focus of Virgo, but from an earth sign, and coupled with the influence of Saturn in direct motion, there is the positive indication of manifesting in the material realm and seeing tangible results for our output, which has primarily been theoretical through the heavy fire sign emphasis that has predominated this year. This is a positive period in which to put our thoughts into practice, with a brilliant culmination on the 26th as the Sun and Jupiter conjunct at 3 degrees of Virgo, stimulating a year long opportunity for expansion though conscientious and meticulous attention to detail and results oriented activities.

STARGAZER ASTROLOGY FORECAST MARCH 22 – 28, 2015

Sun in Aries: Return of the Emperor

A much easier week is in store, and productive developments offer assurance that we are moving in the right direction. Venus continues it’s transit of Taurus amplifying sensuality, creativity and love. Venus sextile Neptune on Tuesday encourages a stellar romantic ambience, as sensitivity to the most gentle nuances is heightened and there is a lovely serendipity stimulated within a rendezvous or meeting. The Moon transits Taurus Sunday into Monday, augmenting these harmonious vibrations, particularly on Sunday Eve. Towards the end of the week, Venus square Jupiter will prove pivotal  within our relationships and there may be a tendency to overdo it, either in a romantic alliance or in expensive purchases. From Taurus – Leo there is a genuine urge towards decadence and pleasure, (and some drama!). The atmosphere mutually encourages generosity, probably the better manifestation of the energy.

Communication is featured at the beginning of the week as Mercury sextiles Pluto on Sunday. From the Stargazer Atlas: “We can dig deep today and seek to really understand the underlying truth. Communication will tend to sensitive, secretive or profound subjects, and through conversation and correspondence we can discover the hidden essence of a subject or person. Research, investigation and getting a point across with conviction all benefit from this energy. Likewise, if you need to have a serious conversation, or get to the bottom of an issue, this is a good time to do so.”

Sun trine Saturn (4 Aries/Leo) on Wednesday offers a very stabilizing environment in which we can continue to work towards our long range endeavors. We begin to see the fruition of goals and initiatives made around November 17th, 2014, during the conjunction phase at 25 Scorpio. Saturn’s harsher realities combine fruitfully within our self expression (the Sun) and we get assurance and results that the efforts we put fourth around that time are producing a positive outcome. This is a good time to attend to tasks that require a patient and methodical approach. Meanwhile, the Moon from Gemini harmonizes Jupiter and Uranus, stimulating the rest of the Grand Fire trine, making this a spectacular day for conversations or social activities centered around creative discovery or discourse. There is a genuine sense of progress and we can enlarge the scope of our activities in a way that will endure over time.

The 2nd Quarter Moon Friday (6′ 19″ Cancer) taps into the gentle harmonic being stimulated by Venus and Neptune. Our determination to make progress on the initiatives we encountered during the eclipse last week will be aided by a creative approach and soft touch. A highly empathic and compassionate vibration will underscore our contacts and activities. From there sensitivities become aroused as the Cancer Moon makes more abrasive aspects to Uranus – Pluto – Mars through Saturday. We are indeed making substantial progress, but will be made aware of contentious influences that are still a part of the landscape. One week down until the Libra eclipse, this is the time to shore up for the really dynamic changes on tap for April 4th!
