There is an essential sense of needing to get reorganized this month, as Mercury retrogrades in Sagittarius and a long range objective (Saturn) of the last few years (since 2015, more or less,) seeks resolution. Mercury is instrumental, and although it does go to and fro, it does so in order make sure the job gets done right, and that nothing is left by the wayside. Saturn and Uranus remain close companions through next Summer, a collaboration that began exactly one year ago and involves finding new ways to solve old problems is continuing to get tweaked, modified and made better, more innovative. This year was the idea generating phase of the cycle, the prelude to Summer 2018, when these two connect through Earth signs, thus manifesting the concepts developed over this prior year.
Mercury throughout it’s retrograde cycle makes three full contacts to both planets. This enables the articulation of the intention of these disparate energetic fields. Mercury can almost be seen as an intermediary between them, gathering information from one, ushering it off to the other, which suggests some kind of negotiation or deal is being struck. If you consider the almost inimical nature of these two planets (conservatism/radicalism) it’s clear to see why such a compromise must be made before they can work together effectively. Using the dates below a sort of pattern emerges, Mercury and Uranus cook up an idea, then Saturn reality checks it, to see if it can really work, (twice). Then Uranus makes some modifications, and a final check occurs January 13th, and something pretty big manifests at this time. Make a note of these dates and see how it works out for you!
November 25 – Mercury trine Uranus
28 – Mercury conjunct Saturn
December 6 – Mercury (RX) conjunct Saturn
10 – Mercury (RX) trine Uranus
January 6 – Mercury trine Uranus
13 – Mercury conjunct Saturn (2’ Capricorn)
It is of incredible significance the third aspect occurs in Capricorn, as it suggests what is being brought into being is tangible and has moved beyond the idea phase into something that can be implemented in reality. Whatever the Mercury retro cycle throws at you this month (and it’s a pretty mild one overall) just bear with it and gather information and facts with an eye to mid January for a successful outcome. Venus, incidentally, joins the conversation as well, trine Uranus on the 20th and conjunct to Saturn on the 25th. This suggests we get help through relationships or material resources that assist the efforts at hand.
Sagittarius oversees the festivities of the month, which is appropriate for the holiday season. With Sun, Mercury and Venus in the jovial and optimistic sign, there is much to celebrate, particularly after what has mostly been a worrisome and difficult year. Mars enters Scorpio on the 9th, bringing a more intensified overtone to the atmosphere, but at least cosmetically the ambience should essentially be bright and cheerful. With Mars in Scorpio, there will be reminders that something needs to be dealt with, something essential is going through transformation. This transit can be a catalyst for immense personal discovery, especially in the context of an intimate relationship. Jupiter in Scorpio assists in maintaining confidence and objectivity, meanwhile, and especially during the beautifully harmonious Jupiter – Neptune trine at the beginning of the month, a deeply engrained feeling of peace and spiritual richness prevails.
The elephant in the room is of course the dynamic shift of Saturn into Capricorn on the 19th. This transit lasts through mid December 2020. Saturn represents an area of critical concentration and the necessity to materialize a goal or objective. It requires structure, discipline and patience to succeed at this and it can appear to be insurmountable at the beginning. To master Saturn is the essence of perseverance itself. Take things in tiny chunks, one little morsel at a time, but with the utmost of consistency. It’s practice that over time yields perfection and from Capricorn this is incredibly amplified.
Here you are looking at the placement of Capricorn in the personal chart as this will become the primary point of emphasis. Saturn first brings the issue of the matter to attention, usually by generating strife or anemic conditions around a topic that requires dramatic restructuring. While these periods can be fraught with challenges, they are meant to test the resilience of an area of life that could use a bit of bolstering. Pluto having recently transited this area over these last few years likely left it asunder, thus the Saturn transit might be precisely what is required to rehabilitate and restore in a specific area, just remember to build with stone, because plaster will crumble.
For what it’s worth, Saturn gets help. Jupiter and Uranus will both connect advantageously, generating a climate of support and growth, and there are no harsh or antagonistic beams coming in from other quarters. One of the harder things to manage with this placement is to take things all too seriously. The flip on Capricorn and what is most misunderstood about this sign is it’s hidden desire to play. While you are likely called upon to be purposeful and act with integrity, so long as you live up to that, there is little else to worry about about. Genuinely invest yourself in an outcome and attend to your work with the level of attention that is required of you. It may be hard at first if discipline is not your thing, but over time, it gets easier.
Have a great month and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
